Ferguson-Jenkins & Associates compiled unemployment statistical data for the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Glendale Metropolitan Statistical Division covering Los Angeles County. FJ&A developed a map series of D-Size poster and 11x17 report inserts showing the 2008 unemployment rates based on census tract areas and identified Targeted Unemployment Areas as identified by the State of California's Employment Development Department.

FJ&A assisted The City of Commerce City, Colorado in developing a set of tools for an Address Verification Project. The tools were developed on the ArcGIS Desktop platform and were designed to allow summer interns, with little or no GIS experience to utilize ArcGIS functionality with a minimum of training. The toolset allowed the interns to verify city address in an area known to have issues with address-to-structure matching. The tools provided capabilities to identify the status of an address (OK, Edit, Delete, etc) and to verify and change the street association if necessary. The tools also provided the means to associate multi-residence addresses and helped manage the link between the primary address and the sub-addresses.  Due to clear goals and planning by management and the efficiency of the tools, the interns were able to complete this project in one-quarter of the time anticipated.
